Then he will send his angels and will gather his chosen ones from the four winds, from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven.”
Christ’s glorious coming will also be the day of gathering His people. He will send His angels to gather His chosen ones from every direction of the world. The expression “from the ends of the earth to the ends of heaven” shows the completeness and universal nature of this gathering: no distance, scattering, or persecution can separate God’s people from Christ. This word gives great comfort to believers, who in the world often seem scattered, persecuted, and insignificant. On the last day none of them will be forgotten and none will be lost, because Christ knows His own and will gather them into His glorious presence.
