Mark 10:1

And from there He rose up and came to the borders of Judea, to the other side of the Jordan. And again crowds gathered to Him, and again, according to His custom, He was teaching them.

This verse shows Christ’s tireless teaching ministry. He is moving toward the regions of Judea, drawing near to that final course that would lead to Jerusalem and the cross. Yet even on that solemn road He does not stop serving the people. The crowds gather around Him again, and, according to His custom, He teaches them. This wording shows that teaching people was one of Christ’s constant ministries. Even when the path toward His sufferings was drawing near, He continued to give the people the word of life. This reveals the Lord’s heart: He does not draw people only by miracles, but nourishes them with the word of truth. His teaching was not a casual speech, but divine light by which He opened God’s will, corrected people’s hearts, and prepared them for the kingdom of God.
