He rode on a cherub and flew. He sped on the wings of the wind.
This verse portrays God’s swift and royal intervention. The cherubim in Holy Scripture are connected with God’s throne and holy presence. “The wings of the wind” show speed and unhindered movement. David is not describing a mechanical journey; rather, in poetic form he says that the Lord comes freely to help. No distance or human obstacle limits Him. For the believer, this is comfort when help seems impossible or far away. God does not need a long road to reach us. He can act in ways beyond human understanding. At the same time, His action is not subject to our timetable. The fact that He can act quickly does not mean that He always acts at the very moment we want. Faith trusts both His power and His wise timing.
