Again he sent other servants and said, ‘Tell those who were invited: “Look, I have prepared my meal. my oxen and the fattened animals have been slaughtered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding.”’.”
The king, in a symbolic sense God, again sends his servants, this time with a more urging and loving call, declaring that everything is ready for the celebration of salvation, and that only their presence is desired. This shows the manifestation of God’s inexhaustible love and repeated mercy: again and again He invites a person, despite the previous rejection. The wedding feast symbolizes the salvation prepared by the grace of Christ, where the slaughtered fattened animals point to the crucifixion of Jesus as the supreme sacrifice. The king’s second invitation shows that God is always open to those who come to Him and patiently calls people into His kingdom, until the last opportunity.
