The Sadducees finally raise their question, which in their view is impossible to resolve. Their question—“At the resurrection, whose wife will she be?”—is framed in such a way that, in their imagination, Jesus’ answer will inevitably be self-contradictory. Yet, as we will see next, this question exposes their fundamental mistaken understanding.
