Matthew 21:16

They were indignant and said to Him, “Do you hear what these are saying?” Jesus said to them, “Yes. Have you not read, ‘Out of the mouth of children and nursing infants You have brought praise to completion’ (Ps. 8:3)?”

In these words Jesus defends the children’s praise, showing that true worship of God can be heard not from the lips of the educated or the rulers, but from humble and simple hearts. With the quotation from the Psalm, He affirms that God accomplishes His glory even through the mouths of children, revealing that messianic recognition is a gift, not a human achievement. This episode at the same time exposes the blindness of the religious leaders and confirms that God’s work is not hindered by human displeasure, but is carried out according to His righteous will.
