And there he did not do many miracles, because of their unbelief.
This verse shows the mutual connection between Jesus’ power and a person’s faith. He who can do all things did not do many miracles in that town, not because of a lack of power, but because of the closedness of their hearts. Unbelief not only prevents a person from receiving God’s work, but also limits the manifestation of God’s mighty presence. This is an important spiritual truth: God works where there is faith. When hearts harden and remain in doubt and rejection, God’s miracles and blessings are not manifested as they would be in hearts that are ready.
