Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.
In this saying Jesus describes the glorious end of true believers. After the judgment is completed, when evil is removed, the righteous will have their full place in the kingdom of God, shining like the sun. With this image their glory, joy, and the state of being in God’s presence are emphasized. The righteous here are not only changed, but also made radiant with God’s light. The closing call, “Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear,” underscores the seriousness of Jesus’ word: this is not merely a story, but a reality to which one must respond with careful attention. This saying is a message of final hope and warning—a call to repentance and faith.
