And they will throw them into the furnace of fire. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth there.

The fiery furnace symbolizes the final and eternal judgment—Gehenna—where the sons of evil, those who have caused others to stumble or have lived in lawlessness, will be found in a state of complete separation from God. The expression “weeping and gnashing of teeth” describes deep sorrow, pain, and remorse. This symbolizes not only physical suffering, but also spiritual emptiness and belated regret. With these words, Jesus warns that God’s judgment is real, and that His justice will act unfailingly.
