And when they persecute you in this city, flee to another city. Truly I tell you, you will not have finished going through the cities of Israel before the coming of the Son of Man.
With these words Jesus urges His disciples that, in times of persecution, they should not tie themselves to one place and not try at all costs to remain where the Gospel is rejected, but with wisdom continue their mission in another city. This shows that their primary aim is not to withstand opposition, but to bring the word of God to hearts that are ready to receive it.
