For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
In this passage Jesus explains that when the disciples face hardships and are forced to testify to their faith, their words will not come from their own thoughts or abilities. Instead, the Spirit of God—the Holy Spirit—will speak through them, guiding what they should say. These words show that God continually supports his followers, especially in moments when they may feel powerless. In such situations the Holy Spirit will speak through them, making their testimony strong and effective. This is a great encouragement for believers that God is not only with them, but also at work within them, bringing their actions into harmony with the Lord’s will.
