Mark 7:31

Leaving the regions of Tyre and Sidon, Jesus came again to the shore of the Sea of Galilee, within the regions of Decapolis.

This movement also shows that Christ was traveling not by the shortest or usual routes, but according to the purposes of His ministry. At times He would withdraw from the crowd and the noise in order to act in a calmer setting, and He did not want premature glory to rise around Him. At the same time, this course testifies that His presence in Gentile regions was ongoing, and those places too were included within the scope of His saving work. Decapolis was likewise a region under Gentile influence, and there too His saving power had to be revealed.
