For a woman whose daughter was suffering from an unclean spirit, when she heard about Him, came and fell at His feet.
Here a new need is presented: a mother’s pain, whose daughter was suffering under the influence of an unclean spirit. She had heard about Jesus, and that hearing became the beginning of her faith. Although she was from a pagan setting, her need brings her to the right place: before the feet of Christ. Her falling before the Lord expresses humility, desperate need, and a faith-filled plea. A mother’s heart here appears as a praying heart. When a child’s pain reaches a parent, it often becomes the path by which that person turns to God more earnestly. This verse also beautifully shows that Christ’s reputation as a merciful Savior was reaching not only the ears of the Jews, but also those of the Gentiles.
