Mark 12:43

And calling His disciples, He said to them, “Truly I tell you that this poor widow put in more than all those who put money into the treasury.

Christ deliberately calls the disciples so that they may learn God’s standard. People could notice the large sums of the rich, but the Lord singled out the poor widow. The phrase “She put in more than all” does not refer to the outward amount of money, but to the depth of the sacrifice. Before God, great is the gift that flows from love, faith, and self-denial. This word comforts those believers who have little to give by worldly standards, yet give with a sincere heart. The Lord does not despise a small gift when it is given with great love.
