All seven took her and left no offspring. In the end, after all of them, the woman also died.
Here the story reaches its climax. The Sadducees think that the same woman marrying seven brothers makes the idea of the resurrection impossible. But they do not notice that the difficulty they present concerns not God’s power, but their earthly way of thinking. Death, childlessness, and the question of inheritance are matters of this world’s fall and mortal condition. In the resurrection, God brings His people into a state where death does not rule, and the need to continue the family line does not exist in the same way.
