And in the morning, while it was still dark, he got up, went out, and went to a deserted place, and there he was praying.
This verse reveals one of the most important features of Christ’s earthly life: His constant communion with the Father. Although He had served people all day, He did not neglect prayer. On the contrary, in extreme busyness the need for prayer is felt even more. Going to a deserted place shows withdrawal from the noise of the world, so that He might stand before God with His whole heart. This is a great example for believers: even the most blessed ministry cannot replace prayer, because the power of ministry is born precisely there, in the presence of God.
