Mark 1:19

And going on a little farther from there, he saw James the son of Zebedee and his brother John, who were in the boat putting their nets in order.

This verse continues the account of the calling of the first disciples and shows that Christ’s choosing includes different people, but for the same purpose. James and John were also busy with their work, which again reminds us that the Lord enters a person’s life where he is. Their mending of the nets can also symbolize the readiness with which God often finds people faithful in their everyday duties. That faithfulness also becomes the foundation for a higher service.
