Mark 1:14

After John was imprisoned, Jesus came into Galilee. He was preaching the Gospel of God and saying.

This verse shows that when John’s ministry is fading, Christ’s public ministry openly begins. From a human perspective, John’s imprisonment could have seemed like a dark event, but in God’s plan it becomes a transition toward a fuller revelation of the Gospel. Jesus comes to Galilee, not to the palaces of rulers, but among the people, so that the good news of salvation might be proclaimed there. “The Gospel of God” means the message that God, by his authority, has drawn near to people, not to destroy, but to save. In this way, the preaching of the Gospel begins where human hopes had grown dim, so that it may become clearer that salvation comes from God.
