Mark 1:12

And immediately the Spirit led Him into the wilderness.

This verse shows that Christ’s temptation was not accidental, but a necessary stage permitted by divine providence at the beginning of His earthly ministry. The Holy Spirit leads Him into the wilderness, a place where human weakness is often felt more clearly and where God’s power becomes more openly revealed. Jesus goes there not as a sinful man, but as the new Adam, so that where the first man was defeated, He Himself might be victorious. In this way Christ shows that His saving path will pass through struggle, obedience to God, and the way of victory.
